Valparaiso police say the shooting was the result of a man being found sleeping in a vehicle that was not his own. Police said they were called out Tuesday morning to the area of Garfield Avenue and Union Street in Valparaiso in response to a disturbance between two men. "During the altercation, one subject fired a weapon at the other, resulting in no serious injuries to either party," police said.

Both men were reportedly taken to the Valparaiso Police Department for questioning and then placed under arrest. Police have said there is no threat to the public.
