According to a report from the Region 4A police on Monday, Judge Artemis Bandando appeared at the local police station and stated that at around 7:30 p.
m., the management of Hardeen Resort, located in Barangay San Miguel, Pila—which he owns—received a phone call and a text message demanding money for the purchase of rice. The caller identified himself as “Jefrey Rosal,” an NPA member.
The alleged rebel warned that if his demand was not met, communist guerrillas would attack the resort. The resort’s management also received a threatening text message. Local police have provided additional security assistance to the establishment.
