Brighton's possible line-up to face Wolverhampton

All eyes will be on the strikers when Fabian Huerzeler names his team to face Wolves. But the Albion head coach also faces a couple of decisions down the left. Danny Welbeck’s presence has been in doubt due to a back injury - although he was due to train on Thursday.

Huerzeler was non-committal about the five-goal top scorer’s presence when he spoke to media on Thursday morning although it felt like he would struggle to make today’s game. The obvious move in his absence would be to start with Evan Ferguson in attack. A little bit of Albion nostalgia from six years ago and the ‘oldest’ goal.

This wasn’t a bad way to follow up a battling 1-0 win at Newcastle! #bhafc https://t.co/t5FDrOaxgB — Brian Owen (@Brian__Owen) October 25, 2024 Kaoru Mitoma, a sub last Saturday, seems a likely starter wide on the left and Simon Adingra is available, which could allow Georginio Rutter to play centrally. Pervis Estupinan and Jan Paul van Hecke both look contenders to return to the XI.

But none of those who started at Newcastle deserve to now be left out. That includes Ferdi Kadioglu , whose versatility could allow him to operate somewhere other than left-back. Albion possible XI: Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Igor, Estupinan; Hinshelwood, Baleba; Adingra, Rutter, Mitoma; Ferguson.
