Monday night's game could lead to a Southern California face-off and a repeat match between fierce competitors.

Topline : The backstory: USC women won two out of three matches against UCLA this season. But UCLA’s one win against USC came at the end of the season for the Big Ten conference championship, and gave UCLA the top draw for the NCAA tournament. Without their star players: UCLA beat Louisiana State on Sunday without star center Lauren Betts, who spent the entire second quarter on the bench after committing two fouls.

USC beat Kansas State on Saturday without their star JuJu Watkins, who suffered a season-ending knee injury five days before. What's next: USC is playing powerhouse University of Connecticut (watch now on ESPN). A win by the Trojans would have then facing the crosstown rival Bruins this Friday, again on ESPN; start time to be announced.
