Sorry, Charlie Brown : there’s a new Thanksgiving special in town, and it’s spurting acidic blood and weird black goo in space. Hulu (and Hulu on Disney+) have just revealed Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus will hit the streamer November 21, a week before Turkey Day. That means your annual family argument over what to watch besides football will be over before it starts, because what better group viewing choice than the latest gruesome entry in the long-running sci-fi horror series? When it released in August, Alien: Romulus earned positive reviews and made money hand-over-tentacle at the box office; its success made franchise originator (and Romulus producer) Ridley Scott eager to start work on the next Alien film .

Plus, that FX prequel series, Alien: Earth , will hopefully be hitting the airwaves in 2025, and recent reports suggest a re-match with the Predator may one day happen . Everything’s coming up Alien ! Here’s a new trailer released ahead of Alien: Romulus ‘ Hulu debut: The official synopsis of Alien: Romulus is as follows: “While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young colonizers come face-to-face with the most relentless and deadly life form in the universe.” It stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu, and is directed by horror master Fede Alvarez from a screenplay by Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues.

Alien: Romulus is set between the first and second Alien movies, with some fans declaring it the best entry since 1986’s Aliens . 20th Century Studios is leaning into early- Alien nostalgia with the film’s physical release, coming next month. In addition to the expected 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD formats (check out all the special extras here ), you can also pick up a VHS version —a nifty gimmick aimed at collectors who still have a working VCR hanging around , or at least the shelf space to display an Alien: Romulus tape.

Alien: Romulus is now available to rent or buy on digital; it hits Hulu (and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers) November 21, and physical media December 3..
