Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling’s ‘kinky’ gay biker romance Pillion gets first look

Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling are looking serious in the first image from their upcoming “kinky” gay biker romance, Pillion.The Succession and Harry Potter stars will feature as a dom and sub pairing in the “filthy romance with heart.” Our first-look at the pair in action (not like that) sees them walking down what looks like your average British high street.

Skarsgård is decked out in motorcycle leathers whilst Melling follows along. The image was released publicly over the weekend by Element Pictures, who are producing the movie. The production company celebrated the film being selected for the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section.



This section focuses on “new trends, new paths and new countries of cinema,” as per the Cannes website. The Festival will take place between the 13th and 24th May 2025 View this post on Instagram A post shared by Element Pictures (@element_pictures)As per Variety, the movie follows Colin (Melling), a weedy wallflower letting life pass him by. That is until Ray (Skarsgård), the impossibly handsome leader of a motorbike club, takes him on as his submissive.

The film’s synopsis then continues: “Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers and taking all sorts of virginities along the way. But as Colin steps deeper into Ray’s world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether the life of a 24/7 submissive is for him. Has he found his calling, or simply swapped one form of suffocation for another?”Pillion is based on Adam Mars-Jones’ 2019 novel Box Hill.

It is directed by Wren Boys‘ Harry Lighton and was filmed in the UK. Element Pictures’ Emma Norton previously said of Lighton: “Harry is a filmmaker who is drawn to risk and fascinated by the potential to find surprising complexity in everyday life. We love this about him and believe that Pillion is the perfect expression of his talent, bravery and ambition.
