Alec Baldwin's wife, Hilaria, has revealed an unexpected career move for their 11 year old daughter Carmen, which her father confessed he 'didn't see coming'. Hilaria announced that Carmen, who is not yet a teenager, is poised to publish her own book. This revelation comes as the latest episode of reality show The Baldwins features a photoshoot for the cover of Carmen's forthcoming book.
The Emmy-winning actor and his wife have been seen discussing their future aspirations extensively on the show. These discussions often revolve around the potential return of Alec to work, which would necessitate time away from his family on a film or TV set. However, it appears one of their seven children has already embarked on a career path of her own.
Hilaria expressed her constant astonishment at how Carmen was always creating remedies in their kitchen, leading her to suggest that Carmen write a book, reports the Irish Star . Hilaria elaborated: "Carmen loves creating her own recipes for skin care. She's always playing and making fun stuff out of things like orange juice and coffee.
As I was watching my daughter play and do ad this and that, I called up my agent and I said 'I feel like Carmen has a book in her'." Hilaria Baldwin opened up about the inspiration behind her daughter Carmen's project, explaining it was based on childhood memories. "I had different kids in the kitchen books when I was growing up, what if we had something like that where she can share her ideas and stuff she just does on her own and is natural?".
Excited about moving forward with the idea, Hilaria announced, "And so today is the day that we are going to do the photos for Carmen's book." Contrastingly, Carmen's father, Alec Baldwin, shared his astonishment at his daughter's new pursuit. "Carmen now, I didn't see that coming actually.
She didn't strike me as that girly girly. Makeup and things in her hair. She's like two hours in the mirror with her friends.
" Commenting on Carmen’s dedication, he remarked, "I've worked with Hollywood actresses and some of the most famous actresses in the world and they don't spend 45 minutes doing their lashes. Nor do their makeup artists!". Carmen collaborates with her mother on a beauty manual titled Glowing Up: Recipes to Rock Your Natural Beauty Empowerment, Self-Care, and Natural Radiance in One Inspiring Guide, slated for release on March 23.
In December 2024, Hilaria Baldwin took to Instagram to reveal the cover of the upcoming book, sharing her thoughts. "If your child is like ours, skincare is an obsession. Walking that line of letting them explore and have fun, but also being conscious of what they are putting on their skin is a hard one! We strike a balance in our home and part of it has been Carmen led by watching her make her own skincare products, from our kitchen, researching, learning about beneficial ingredients, creating and having fun!".
The announcement gushed with excitement: "Today we're so excited to share Carmen is announcing the launch of her book. It's a guide to embracing self-care, building confidence, and celebrating natural beauty. We are so proud of you Carmen, and so excited to share this project with you all!" The Baldwins premieres weekly on Sundays at 10/9c on TLC.
