"I'm massive on discipline, and I know the last couple of years we've had a few sin bins and fights, and that doesn't look good for our club," he offered.

"It's probably the biggest thing for the club this year - how we represent our club. We want to change that, and instead of Albury is always this or that, we want to be the club with the best discipline in the comp." Uaisele is coaching for the first time at first grade level.

The Thunder has made the past two finals campaigns. The club has signed a handful of players, including front-rower Tupou Junior Fifita from Wests Tigers Mackay and Osika Faufonga, who is Uaisele's nephew. Albury has also lost a number of players in Jeremy Wiscombe and Keanau Wighton, among others.

"We have definitely worked on our defence, last year we could score points but Etu has focused on defence and it's probably shows in the trials," co-captain Paul Karaitiana said. The Thunder kept Group 20 outfits Leeton and Griffith Waratahs to single figures. Karaitiana, who will share the leadership role with Lachy Munro, is excited by centre Vili Cerei.

"He's silky with the ball and gives us that extra pace on the right edge," he said. The Thunder starts its season away to Tumut on Saturday. There is a general bye for Easter, with the Thunder making a second long trip to Young on April 26 before playing its first home game against Wagga Brothers on Saturday, May 3.
