Albion fans could face travel woes on the way to the Amex next week as railway engineering works coincide with a Carabao Cup tie. Brighton face Liverpool in the Round of 16 clash on Wednesday night, but fans travelling from parts of East Sussex could be hit by improvement works to the Ore tunnel. The club has issued travel advice to supporters urging them to seek alterative travel arrangements where possible.
An Albion spokesman said: “The train service is heavily impacted by the Ore blockade/engineering works taking place. The Amex Stadium (Image: The Argus) “Please Check Southern Rail's website before travelling by rail. Certain trains departing from Falmer post-match will not stop at Moulsecoomb or London Road.
“Please expect queue waiting times to be longer than usual. Where possible, please seek alternative travel arrangements. Additional parking has been arranged but it must be pre-booked.
” Brighton fans are able to use buses and trains for free on match days in the club’s “free travel zone” so long as they produce a valid ticket. All Brighton and Hove Buses, including services from Lewes to Ringmer, Uckfield and Tunbridge Wells, are included as well as Stagecoach 700 services from Worthing. Trains to and from Falmer are also supported as far as Worthing, Seaford, Eastbourne and Haywards Heath.
A Park and Ride bus service from Mill Road, Brighton Racecourse and Pyecombe also runs until an hour and a half after the final whistle..
