Ajinkya Rahane To Be Assessed By KKR Medical Staff After Injuring Hand During Win Over DC

Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane hurt his hand while fielding during DC vs KKR in New Delhi on Tuesday. Rahane tried to stop a drive from DC opener Faf du Plessis off the bowling of Andre Russell, but the ball deflected off his finger as the South Africa completed a single.

Rahane immediately started shaking his hand and walked off the field in the company of KKR team physio. It was the first delivery of the 11th over which was deemed no-ball as Russell had overstepped. Rahane didn’t return to the field and with KKR vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer being replaced as Impact Sub by Vaibhav Arora, allrounder Sunil Narine was handed the captaincy duties.

I’ll be fine." As per ESPNCricinfo , Rahane will be assessed by KKR medical staff on Wednesday morning to determine the seriousness of the injury. The win was KKR’s fourth of the season in 10 games and they remain seventh in the standings.
