Aimee Lou Wood revealed that Sarah Sherman sent her flowers after The White Lotus actress called out Saturday Night Live for airing a “mean and unfunny” sketch about her. On Tuesday, Wood shared a photo of a colorful bouquet on her Instagram Stories, thanking Sherman “for the beautiful flowers.” Sherman herself hasn’t publicly addressed the backlash following SNL ‘s “The White Potus” sketch, which aired on Saturday night, but Wood has been vocal about her dislike of the portrayal.

The five-minute sketch spoofed Mike White’s beloved HBO series and gave it a MAGA update, with Jon Hamm, the episode’s guest star, playing an RFK Jr. version of Walton Goggins ‘ character, Rick Hatchett. In the skit, he contemplates removing fluoride from the country’s drinking water.

Sherman appears as Wood’s character Chelsea, parodying her heavy Manchester accent and prominent teeth. Sherman responds to Hamm’s plan by saying, “Fluoride? What’s that?” Wood called the spoof “mean and unfunny” in a series of Instagram Stories. “Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple of weeks ago,” she wrote.

“Yes, take the piss for sure – that’s what the show is about – but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?” She added, “I don’t mind caricature – I understand that’s what SNL is. But the rest of the skit was punching up and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on ..

. Not Sarah Squirm’s fault and not hating on her. Hating on the concept.

” The response spurred a slew of think-pieces and supportive comments from fans, and Wood later wrote that she got “apologies from SNL .” Trending Stories Trump Admin Deports Teen With No Criminal Record to El Salvador Prison: Report Musk and Trump Are Increasingly Unpopular, New Polling Finds Are Em Dashes Really a Sign of AI Writing? The actor posted on the official SNL Instagram page, “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg.

” He also shared the sketch on his IG Stories, captioning it, “SMASHING. Jon..

. I knew I was miscast.” That post has since been deleted.

Goggins’ and Wood’s vastly different reactions to the skit increased speculation about a possible rift between the two actors. Since the Season Three finale, the rumor mill has been churning heavily, especially after fans noticed that the two no longer follow each other on Instagram (despite both also sharing heartfelt and earnest tributes to the show and their characters)..
