Aimee Lou Wood in a set of new Instagram Stories is making it clear she doesn't blame Sarah Sherman for the "mean and unfunny" Saturday Night Live parody sketch about The White Lotus

Aimee Lou Wood followed up on her previous posts criticizing a Saturday Night Lives sketch that she called "mean and unfunny ." The actress went on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, April 13, to let people know that she did not blame SNL cast member Sarah Sherman for the late-night sketch show's The White Lotus Spoof. Sarah depicted Aimee Lou's White Lotus character, Chelsea, in the parody sketch called "The White Potus.

" Within Sarah's portrayal, she wore fake and exaggeratedly large teeth as well attempted to do a Mancunian accent. In Aimee Lou's Story that included a selfie of herself in the background with a black box of text written in white, which read: "Actually one last thing. Not @sarahsquirm’s fault x.

Not hating on her, hating on the concept x." She also wrote previously in another Story before the post defending Sarah, that she is not "thin skinned." "I actually love being taken the piss out of when it’s clever and in good spirits.

But the joke was about fluoride," The Sex Education alum continued. "I have big gap teeth not bad teeth. I don’t mind caricature — I understand that’s what SNL is.

But the rest of the skit was punching up and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on." Aimee Lou followed up with a third post with a screenshot of a comment that read: "It was a sharp and funny skit until it suddenly took a screeching turn into 1970’s misogyny." She wrote over the screenshot, agreeing, "This sums up my view x.

" The skit was a pre-recorded one that aired on the April 12 episode of SNL. Jon Hamm was the host and Lizzo was the musical guest. The spoof of the hit HBO show had a political spin to it that saw current and past cast members, The Mad Men star and a surprise cameo of Scarlett Johansson playing political and public figures such as Donald Trump, selects members of his family, Vladimir Putin, Marco Rubio and more.

In one part of the sketch, Jon played Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and he has a conversation with Sarah, who plays Chelsea, about taking fluoride out off the drinking water.

Aimee Lou initially on Sunday went on her Instagram Stories to call out the parody. "I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny." she said.

" Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago." "Yes, take the piss for sure — that's what the show is about — but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?" Aimee Lou added. The 31-year-old did update that after the initial post that she received "apologies from SNL.

" Since calling out SNL, Aimee Lou has received public support from many stars such as Jameela Jamil, Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger and Tori Allen-Martin. DAILY NEWSLETTER: Sign up here to get the latest news and updates from the Mirror US straight to your inbox with our FREE newsletter..
