AIIB, Kazakhstan to elaborate three-year investment plan

The AsianInfrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and Kazakhstan will develop athree-year investment plan, the statement of the press service ofKazakhstan's government said, reports. At a meeting between Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister andMinister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov and an AIIBdelegation headed by Vice President Konstantin Limitovskiy, aDeclaration of Intent to jointly develop a three-year investmentplan was signed. The plan will include sectors, areas, and projects for possiblefinancing.

“We highly appreciate the prospects for further cooperation withthe Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. I would like to emphasizethat Kazakhstan is entering a new investment cycle and todaypresents several large projects that are interesting in terms ofinvestment both to international financial institutions and privateinvestors,” Baibazarov stated during the meeting. In turn, Limitovskiy noted that AIIB is ready to contribute tothe successful implementation of the National Development Plan ofKazakhstan as well as to support its commitment to decarbonizationto achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
