Leading up to the marathon this year, AIA Life Insurance introduced special campaigns that anyone connected to the insurer and AIA Premier Partners can enjoy.

AIA Life Insurance designated singer Sean, who is promoting both donation and running, as the AIA Running Ambassador. It also named around 500 people — AIA Life Insurance and AIA Premier Partners clients as well as insurance planners, telemarketers, those from partner companies as well as executives and employees — as Team AIA, giving them the opportunity to join the marathon. To support Team AIA and celebrate the members' completion of the marathon, the life insurer made a matching donation of 100,000 won per runner.

The fund totaling 50 million won will be donated to the National Cancer Center at the end of this year to support cancer patients in vulnerable communities. As the AIA Running Ambassador, Sean said the motivation and plans to donate to those in need resonated with him. In addition, AIA Life Insurance is scheduled to donate 10 million won to the Rodem International Alternative School for teenage “Koryoin,” or Koreans from post-Soviet nations, through Habitat for Humanity Korea.

Sean’s son Harang, who also completed a 10-kilometer course in the marathon, has been supporting the school. Members of the "Unknown Crew," which includes Sean and former national football player Lee Young-pyo, also took part in this donation and running event. At AIA Life Insurance's promotional booth located at the 10-kilometer run finish line in Yeouido Park, a CSR Donation Zone and various events focused on healthy living were prepared.

Additionally, there were some pre-events for clients and others connected with AIA Life Insurance or AIA Premier Partners, to help spread the culture of running beyond personal physical and mental development and foster community-wide engagement. The insurer held “Training Sessions with AIA Running Ambassador” at Namsan Park on Oct. 14 and 28, where Sean and other pre-registered participants received coaching from Kwon Eun-ju, a former member of the national marathon team and the record-holder for the women’s marathon in Korea for 21 years.

They learned running techniques and diverse warm-up exercises. The insurer also held “Sean’s Talk Concert" at the AIA Tower in downtown Seoul on Oct. 18, where around 100 attendees discussed diverse health-related topics including overcoming slumps and tips for dads.

Nathan Chuang, CEO of AIA Life Insurance, said supporting the JTBC Seoul Marathon aligns with the group’s goal of “improving the quality of life for communities in the Asia-Pacific region.” “We hope this marathon will serve as a leap forward for all participants on their journey toward a 'healthier, longer and better life,’” he said. AIA Life Insurance has been running the "AIA One Billion (AOB) Campaign" since 2022, with the goal of supporting more people to live "healthier, longer and better lives.

" Sponsoring the marathon was also a part of the campaign. It has been continuously involved in various efforts for the environmental, mental, physical and financial health of communities, including recent sponsorship for the Seoul International Kids & Youth Film Festival. It plans to continue financial education programs for the socially vulnerable and youth to improve their financial health.
