RTE viewers have been left divided with week as Aldi released their 2024 Christmas advert just days after Halloween. The advert shows the now famous Kevin The Carrot and Katie The Carrot characters embark on a daring mission to save Christmas after the festive spirit is stolen by thieves. The advert was shown on RTE during programming on Monday evening while Aldi Ireland also released the clip on social media.

They captioned the post: "Those dastardly humbugs took the Christmas Spirit, but never fear – they’re no match for this unbe-leaf-able duo. Find out if Kevin and Katie manage to save the day in our brand-new Christmas ad." Some people loved the new advert.

One person wrote: "Great Xmas ad, this made me laugh. Love Kevin and Katie." A second added: "False bottom - Booby Trap, brilliant.

" Other people bemoaned the fact the ad was released on November 4, just days after Halloween. One said: "Ah lads, I still have my Halloween decorations up. It's far too early.

" Meanwhile, Lidl also released their Christmas advert this week. It shows a little girl carrying out a good deed to help an elderly neighbour and being gifted a pair of bell decorations to "make a wish on" when they ring. The girl then goes home and first wishes for a plate of sprouts to turn into biscuits before her entire family is then able to make all their wishes come true.

While some also said it was too early to release the ad, others were loving its sentiment. One person wrote: "In light of what's going on in the world right now, it's a reminder of what we are losing. Humanity.

Hope we get it back before it's too late.".
