Five-hour course offers continuing education units November 7, 2024 - by Tim Schnettler The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Gillespie County will host a Landscape and Turf program on Nov. 21 in Fredericksburg. The program, which runs from 8 a.
m. to 2:30 p.m.
, will be held at the AgriLife Extension office at 38 Business Court. Individuals can register by calling 830-997-3452, and the deadline to register is Nov. 19.
The cost for the class is $75, which includes lunch and refreshments. About the program This program is geared toward individuals who work with public landscapes, but anyone needing agriculture applicator continuing education units, including private pesticide applicator CEUs, can attend. Speakers and topics include: Nutrient management best integrated pest management practices, Pablo Boeri, Ph.
D., AgriLife Extension turfgrass specialist and assistant professor, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences , Dallas. Feral hog control in the landscape, Brad Roeder, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent, Fredericksburg.
Laws and regulations review, Vick Alexander, assistant regional director, pesticides, Texas Department of Agriculture , San Antonio. Threats and solutions for Central Texas trees, David Appel, Ph.D.
