RAWALPINDI: After the Supreme Court’s landmark verdict on the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendments, the anti-corruption watchdog on Monday withdrew the new Toshakhana reference against the PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi and referred it to a relevant court. The development was witnessed during a hearing of the incarcerated premier’s bail petition in the new Toshakhana reference today. The reference, related to a jewellery set gifted by the Saudi crown prince to the ex-prime minister and the former first lady, was referred to a special judge central by the accountability court.

At the outset of the hearing, the prosecutor representing the top accountability body said that the reference was out of the anti-graft watchdog’s jurisdiction after the restoration of the NAB amendments following the top court’s verdict last week. More to follow..
