After launching at 13134 Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa’s Carrollwood neighborhood, Plate Tapas Grill & Lounge isn’t stopping to rest on its laurels. Instead, this new brand has gotten straight to work on its next location, this time in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District.
Plan review paperwork has been submitted for Plate St. Pete, which will open at 1601 Grand Central Avenue. The brand recently posted a menu on its Instagram page.
It shows—in addition to its taps menu—raw plates like Tofu, Salmon Ceviche, and Tuna Ponzu, plus Sushi Tapas like the Vegan Roll ( pickled daikon, tofu, cucumber, asparagus ) and the Mexican Roll ( tempura shrimp, avocado, yum-yum sauce, eel sauce, hot sauce, sesame seed ). Entrees revolve around a choice of proteins like Grilled Chicken, Grilled Steak, Grilled Pork Belly, or the Grilled Veggie/Tofu Bowl, and all are served with grilled portabella mushrooms, peppers, onions, squash, and zucchini. There are also poke bowls with choice of salmon, tuna, and whitefish.
What Now reached out to partner Matt Pengtakoon on Thursday to ask about the timeline for Plate’s opening on Grand Central Avenue. Pengtakoon was not immediately available for comment. You can keep up with Plate news by following @plate_tampa on Instagram.
