Affordable home applications open for Whisper Valley

Whisper Valley will soon include 48 homes reserved for middle-income buyers.

Austin Habitat for Humanity is currently accepting applications for a new stretch of homes in Whisper Valley , Travis County’s first geothermal neighborhood. The nonprofit will build 48 single-family homes exclusively available to middle-income earners, with prices ranging from $230,000 to $245,000. Buyers can also utilize 100% financing, meaning a down payment isn’t required to purchase a house.

In addition to Austin Habitat for Humanity’s qualifying factors , the 2025 income limits for applicants are as follows: One-person household: up to $68,500 Two-person household: up to $78,250 Three-person household: up to $88,050 Four-person household: up to $97,800 The homes will be built in phases over the next several years, and construction efforts will kick off in October through the 2025 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project . During the initiative, volunteers will come together to build 25 homes in one week.
