
Chennai: Police on Sunday recovered the body of an advocate from his rented apartment in Virugambakkam. The incident came to light after residents complained of a foul smell emnating from the apartment. Police sources said the deceased was found with cut injuries on his head and face.
Investigations are on. The deceased, Venkatesan, was staying at the apartment on Ganapathy Raj Main Road with a friend for the past four months. Police said the front door of the apartment was locked for the past two days.
However, residents in the apartment complex alerted the house owner and police as the house smelled. Police entered the apartment through the back entrance and found the decomposing body with cut injuries. The body was recovered and sent for a post-mortem to Govt Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.
