A popular Hassocks health club has undergone a £3.5 million renovation to its facilities. David Lloyd Wickwoods, formerly Wickwoods Country Club, has undergone significant redevelopment since it was acquired by David Lloyd Clubs in 2023.
The transformation includes a new gym with more than 100 stations, four new exercise studios, upgraded spa facilities, and additional racquet courts. The club has also only recently transitioned to an adult-only policy with increased membership fees, although the changes were communicated to members in advance of taking effect. The finished results are fantastic, and I look forward to seeing members enjoying their stunning new facilities." New facilities include a Reformer Pilates studio, mind and body studio, group cycling studio, and high energy studio.
The gym features updated fitness technology, including the intuitive strength circuit, which allows members to tailor workouts and track their progress. The refurbished spa now includes hydrotherapy pools, a Finnish sauna, Himalayan salt sauna, steam rooms, a plunge pool, and a landscaped garden area. A redesigned clubroom and outdoor terrace now include a business lounge and a menu offering meals, smoothies and coffees. The club says the changes aim to support members' health and wellness in a modern, purpose-built environment.
