Kirk Herbstreit's dog was having so much fun with the live Georgia mascot during College GameDay on Saturday. Herbstreit dog, Peter, was playing with the Georgia mascot while on the College GameDay set. Take a look : Best buds @KirkHerbstreit #GoDawgs pic.
twitter.com/TRWXrzm0EW College football fans on social media are loving this video. "I feel like if Gameday just dedicates a 10-minute segment in the show solely to dogs playing together it would do well," one tweet read .
"This is the cutest thing I’ve seen all day," another tweet read . "One of the things I'm so impressed with is Kirk's dogs Ben, and now Peter, listen to him and stay close no matter what's around them. I have an incredible dog in Maggie, but I fear she'd be challenging UGA to a few zoomies around the end zone and I wouldn't see her for days," another fan tweeted .
Cooper Neill/Getty Images Peter is Herbstreit's other golden retriever after his older one, Ben, passed away earlier this month. Ben was a major part of the football community and was with Herbstreit game weekend during College GameDay and for Thursday Night Football. Herbstreit and the rest of the GameDay crew were in Athens for Saturday's showdown between Georgia and Tennessee.
Both teams are among the best in the country and this is virtually a College Football Playoff elimination for Georgia since it already has two losses. If Georgia were to lose again, it would be highly unlikely that the CFP committee would put the program in the CFP. It's why Saturday's game is so important.
Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
