British singer Adele recently revealed a challenging health ordeal that left her in intense pain and temporarily impaired her hearing. During her Las Vegas residency show on October 25, the 36-year-old Grammy-winning artist shared with her audience that she had been battling a severe ear infection. She described it as "the most painful thing that's ever, ever happened to me in my life.

" Seated at her piano, Adele opened up about the experience, remarking, "I've actually got an ear infection, which is pretty grim," adding that this was her first encounter with an ear infection. For Adele, the pain was far beyond anything she expected, even comparing it to childbirth. "It was worse than childbirth," she told her fans, underscoring the intensity of the discomfort.

Adele shares a 12-year-old son, Angelo, with her former partner, Simon Konecki, and is recently engaged to sports agent Rich Paul. According to Adele, the infection was caused by a rare waterborne bacteria, making the condition difficult to treat initially. "A rare water bacteria .

.. [that's] very hard to treat," she explained.

The singer revealed she was initially prescribed antibiotics that proved ineffective. However, after a few days, her doctors identified an antibiotic that began to alleviate her symptoms, gradually improving her condition. Despite the pain, Adele managed to keep her humour intact, joking with the audience about her ordeal.

"There were times I wanted to chop my ear off," she admitted. Fortunately, the pain subsided, and she’s now able to continue with her performances without discomfort. However, the infection has left lingering side effects, with Adele experiencing temporary hearing loss in her left ear.

"I’m a bit deaf in my left ear!" she shared. Even with the lingering effects of the infection, Adele didn’t let it deter her from performing. Over the weekend, she delivered several shows and had a particularly memorable encounter when she spotted another musical icon, Celine Dion, in the audience.

During her October 26 performance, the two singers embraced, both visibly moved, creating a touching moment that quickly went viral. The heartwarming interaction struck a chord with fans worldwide, especially as Dion has also faced significant health challenges. In 2021, Dion cancelled her Las Vegas residency after being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that has affected her ability to perform.
