Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chattogram Range Mashiur Rahman has been arrested in Dhaka. Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chattogram Range Mashiur Rahman has been arrested in Chattogram. He was later brought in Dhaka.

The Detective Branch took him into custody late on Thursday, Rezaul Karim Mallik, head of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's DB, confirmed it, adding that Mashiur was an accused in several murder cases. After the interim government led by Dr Muhammad Yunus came to power, Mashiur was transferred from the DB to Chittagong. DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Obaidur Rahman said Mashiur's arrest had been shown in a case filed with New Market police station.
