Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) declared that he and other Americans are “REINVIGORATED” as he offered his two cents on Donald Trump ’s election win on Friday.

“Can I be clear about something? I have absolutely no fear of Trump. Honest to God,” wrote Kinzinger, a frequent critic of the president-elect, on Threads . “This narrative that his opponents are intimidated is what MAGA wants to believe.

” Kinzinger was one of 10 House Republicans that voted to impeach Trump over his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack and, in a speech at the Democratic National Convention this summer , slammed both the GOP and the president-elect as he backed Kamala Harris . On the campaign trail, Trump entertained deploying the military on his political foes and fantasized about having guns “trained on” the face of former Rep.

Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.). Cheney— like fellow Harris campaign supporter Kinzinger — also was a member of the House Select Committee on the Capitol riot.

The former House Republican, in a post to his Substack on Friday , wrote that he was “absolutely, resolutely unafraid” of Trump before arguing that the president-elect “depends on fear.” “He builds his whole image around being ‘strong,’ ‘tough,’ a supposed champion of the ‘common man,’” Kinzinger said. “But strength doesn’t come from endless bullying, degrading insults, or an ability to throw temper tantrums every time he doesn’t get his way.

That’s not strength; it’s weakness.” Kinzinger dismissed those who are concerned that he’ll face “retaliation” over his criticism as Trump prepares to move into the White House. Don't let this be the end of the free press.

“Mean posts on his social media platform? Outrageous nicknames? Maybe a mob of his most ardent supporters trying to intimidate me or my family? Been there, seen it. And I’m still here. Trump’s tactics are predictable, tired, and, frankly, more sad than threatening.
