Podcaster and author Adam Buxton is known for his DIY Channel 4 show and appeared in films such as Hot Fuzz and Son Of Rambow.

Comedian Adam Buxton first found fame with his friend Joe Cornish before he went on to direct music videos for Radiohead and toured his own live show. However, away from his successful career as a podcaster, his private life has experienced plenty of ups and downs. He recently opened up about the heartache of losing both his parents and has written about his long-term marriage to his wife, Sarah.

In one article for The Guardian in 2011, Adam once spoke about the brutal reality of modern marriage and how the pair took a trip to the Maldives to get away from their children. In his usual satirical format, Adam explained that he was invited on a press trip to the Maldives, but his wife Sarah wasn't excited by the prospect at first. She expressed, "It's just that I've got so much to do, and who's going to look after the children? I don't know if I could leave them for a week.

" Adam then wrote about how their children left a mess in their family bathroom, to which Sarah said, "I'm just knackered. You get on, I can deal with this," then added pointedly, "I usually do." It's the cue for a delightful evening of simmering tension and resentment.

" The next day, Sarah changes her mind and decides to join Adam in the Maldives, saying they need the retreat "as a couple." He later wrote during their holiday, "I had worried vaguely that we might be unable to converse about anything other than the children on this trip, but luckily that doesn't seem to be the case. In fact, every moment of being alone together for the first time in about nine years is intensely enjoyable.

" Later on during the trip, Adam and Sarah decide to renew their vows at the last minute. During their emotional speeches, Adam details how his wife cried within three words of her vows. He then explained that the weather took a nasty turn, "The gods seem displeased, and Sarah's tears as I read my admittedly moving and well-crafted vows mingle with big drops of rain.

I rush to finish before we're hit by lightning and Maldivian romantic tourism takes another blow." Adam then signed off then a man also named Adam drove the pair to the airport, to which the comedian described to readers that he had "never been so happy." Adam married Sarah in 2001, and they have three children.
