An abused OFW identified as alias “Rose” called for help after enduring abuse from her employer’s son in Saudi Arabia. The Filipina overseas worker had initially reported the incidents to her recruitment agency, but no action was taken, prompting her to seek assistance from authorities. The first assault happened in May when her employers were away on a business trip.

Rose fought back as best as she could, but her strength wasn’t enough to stop him. Fearing for her safety, she kept the incident to herself for a month as the employer’s son threatened her with death or imprisonment if she spoke out.

Eventually, she reached out to her agency in the Philippines, only to be told she would have to wait two to three months for any assistance. Hoping for support, Rose also confided in her employer, but instead of receiving help, she found herself stripped of her passport and iqama, making it nearly impossible to leave. In July, the employer’s son assaulted her again.

With nowhere else to turn, Rose pleaded for help, desperate for rescue. The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) quickly responded to Rose’s case. They took swift action, rescuing her from her employer’s home and transferring her to the safety of a police station.

The OFW expressed her relief, saying she now felt safe and hoped the case would bring justice for what she endured.

Thank you so much po,” she added. In a previous post, a Pinay OFW shares high-paying cleaning jobs in the U.
