Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff discussed the Gaza ceasefire and broader regional peace efforts in a phone call on Sunday, according to a statement from Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Tamim Khalaf. The call, part of ongoing consultations between Egypt and the US administration, followed a 1 February conversation between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and US President Donald Trump. The statement noted the positive nature of the presidential dialogue.

Abdelatty and Witkoff focused on implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement, including its three phases. Abdelatty emphasized the importance of sustaining the agreement and expediting the delivery of humanitarian aid to address the dire situation in the Gaza Strip.
