Makati Mayor and senatorial candidate Abby Binay has called on voters to support the entire senatorial lineup of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, emphasizing the importance of electing a unified team to ensure effective governance and legislative reform. Speaking at a press conference in Dagupan City, Binay said real change can only be achieved through a cohesive Senate bloc that shares common goals and advocacies. “I think we fail to realize that the Senate is a collegial body.
("Even if I win, but the others who also get elected don’t share the same advocacy, then I still won’t be able to push my advocacy.") Binay warned that electing only individual candidates without regard for their alignment with the slate’s platform may hinder the passage of crucial reforms.
” she added.
(“So the campaign can’t be just about me. Everyone needs to be campaigned for. Because what will happen to you if you're the only one who wins in the Senate and your fellow senators aren’t your allies?”) She stressed that the Alyansa slate campaigns as a team, underscoring the need for a collective approach in pushing legislative priorities.
“So it is important, the approach always in the campaign is ‘kami pong lahat.’ ("It’s all of us.
It can't be ’just me,’ it has to be ’us.’") The Alyansa senatorial slate includes Benhur Abalos, Pia Cayetano, Panfilo Lacson, Lito Lapid, Manny Pacquiao, Bong Revilla, Vicente Sotto III, Francis Tolentino, Erwin Tulfo, and Camille Villar..
