No educated nation can remain indifferent to its libraries. No one can deny the importance and usefulness of libraries, yet, unfortunately, the condition of libraries in various areas of Karachi is extremely poor. Readers face basic issues such as a lack of clean drinking water, the absence of newspapers and magazines, outdated or missing modern scientific books, frequent power outages, and poor cleanliness.

According to library staff, they receive their salaries only once every two months, leading to a lack of motivation in their work. The government should rebuild these abandoned libraries in accordance with modern standards. Modern libraries could play a crucial role in encouraging students to read, and reading plays a fundamental role in societal reform.
