The Giants were prioritizing acquiring Matthew Stafford, but that is no longer possible as he plans to stay in Los Angeles with a new contract. New York's NFC team knew it was not the 'top dog' among the teams needing a new quarterback, per CBS Sports . However, Rodgers may be the Giants next-best option.
Over the last few weeks, calls have been made to teams who could have potential interest in Rodgers. The Giants were one of those franchises, receiving multiple calls from the 41-year-old's camp. With Stafford off the board, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, and Sam Darnold, along with Rodgers are the biggest prizes left for unattached signal callers.
