The Pokemon Company and award-winning animation studio Aardman have announced that they will collaborate on a “special project” in the coming years. Said project will reportedly arrive for audiences sometime in 2027 and will see “Aardman bringing their unique style of storytelling to the Pokémon universe in brand-new adventures”. The Bristol-based Aardman Animations is famed for their work in stop motion and clay animation with their most notable franchises including “Wallace & Gromit,” “Shaun the Sheep” and “Chicken Run”.
Further details of the new collaboration are under wraps though. Taito Okiura, VP of Marketing and Media at The Pokémon Company, says in a statement: “This is a dream partnership for Pokémon. Aardman are masters of their craft, and we have been blown away by their talent and creativity.
What we have been working on together ensures our global Pokémon fans are in for a treat!” Aardman’s most recent work, the “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” film, is set to release on Netflix on January 3rd. Source: Aardman.
