National Highways has confirmed the diversion route for drivers planning to use the A46 in Newark after a three-car collision closed the road. Multiple emergency services are at the scene of the serious crash, first reported at around 12.45am on Sunday (November 24).
Police investigations are taking place at the scene and the road is therefore set to remain closed "throughout the morning and into the peak traffic period" between the Cattle Market Roundabout and Brownhills Roundabout, National Highways says. The traffic agency has therefore released full details of the diversion route for affected drivers. The diversion involves bypassing the affected stretch of the A46 by using the A1.
Below is the full diversion route: National Highways adds: "If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.".
