A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at about 9.40am today (September 16) with reports of a collision on the A1(M) southbound at J15, Sawtry. Officers are currently at the scene.

"It appears one vehicle is involved. Two people have gone to Peterborough City Hospital for treatment. Injuries don’t appear to be serious on our logs at this time.

Three fire crews attended the incident. A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said just before 10.

40am: "At 9.39am, crews from Stanground, Huntingdon and St Neots along with the north roaming fire engine were called to a road traffic collision on A1 Southbound between Sawtry and Alconbury. Crews are working hard to make the area safe.
