Apple is reportedly preparing a major update to its Health app, integrating an AI assistant capable of coaching users on key aspects such as sleep and diet. Bloomberg reports that an AI assistant, a kind of virtual doctor, could be directly integrated into the iPhone Health app in 2026. The arrival of a medical assistant powered by artificial intelligence would represent a new stage in the history of the Health app.

The aim of this project, code-named "Mulberry,” is to be able to offer personalized recommendations to users by analyzing the various data collected by their Apple connected devices. Initially, the idea is to be able to offer personalized advice on nutrition, but also on sleep, mental well-being and cardiology, if any concerns are detected. In addition to the data collected, the Health app could also use the iPhone's cameras, for example, to study users' workouts and give them advice on how to improve their technique.

However, users will have to be patient, as the assistant is not expected to arrive until iOS 19.4, which is planned for spring or summer 2026. To develop this AI assistant, Apple intends to draw on the expertise of real doctors, with whom the company is currently collaborating.

They could even be called upon to make video content such as health-focused explainers, which could feature in the application when relevant. Apple's Health application now centralizes users' health and fitness data, with the aim of promoting ever healthier lifestyles. Information can also be shared with relatives and doctors.
