It’s all go for Doireann Garrihy as she lifts the lid on her pregnancy for the first time.The newly returned 2FM star and her husband Mark Mehigan are going to be parents as they announced they’re expecting their first child on Friday.Doireann and her other half tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Kildare back in November and are now soon to be a family-of-three.

Chatting on 2FM, she began: ‘It’s a big day. I’m feeling good. I’m expecting a baby and it’s very exciting.

‘[She had] a rocky few weeks but we’re fine now, all is good. I’m looking forward to doing radio and actually being able to talk about it freely.The newly returned 2FM star and her husband Mark Mehigan are going to be parents as they announced they’re expecting their first child on Friday.

Pic: Brian McEvoy‘It’s been hard [to keep it a secret], I feel I couldn’t be myself. But all is good, it’s been very positive and exciting,’ she added.It’s still early days for Doireann, who revealed she’s been struggling with food aversions in her first trimester.

She explained: ‘I would’ve been a solid four coffees a day person. Allergic to coffee, the smell of it and everything. Tea as well – gone.

Chicken as well, like, what?’‘There was a lot of irrational hatred of things,’ the mum-to-be added. ‘I hated my couch at home. The shape of it, the way I felt in it.

.. horrendous.

I wanted to burn it. I wanted to set it alight.’‘I didn’t set it alight, I kept my insanity.

Posing for a mirror selfie while Mark held Doireann’s soon to be growing baby bump and the mum-to-be holding an ultrasound pic, Doireann wrote ‘We are beside ourselves with joy. Here’s to the greatest chapter yet.’Friends of the couple were overcome with joy at the incredible news, with Doireann’s former 2FM partner in crime Carl Mullan commenting ‘Absolutely Amazing news.

A little swan baby. Massive congrats to you both,’ alongside a heart emoji.‘There is nothing more special than baby news, but when it’s your baby’s news,’ Doireann’s mum Clare added, before joking to her daughter and son in law ‘this will be one lucky funny Baba!’ while her dad Eugene joked ‘This Babysitting craic is impacting my golf, but sincere congratulations Doireann and Mark.

’Doireann’s sister Aoibhinn was also delighted for the pair, commenting ‘You two! What a lucky little baba...

we cannot wait to meet you little angel.’Doireann and Mark were believed to have been dating after they were spotted in the Powerscourt hotel in 2022, with Mark popping the question in December 2023. The couple tied the knot in the K Club in Kildare back in November 2024, with Doireann branding the nuptials ‘the night of our lives.
