A Disappointing Update About ‘Solo Leveling’ Season 3

Will Solo Leveling get a season 3? Here's what we know, and currently, it does not seem that it's great news, unfortunately.

Solo Leveling Crunchyroll Solo Leveling just aired its season 2 finale, and with that ending, of course viewers want to see more from Jin-woo and the rest of the cast as his power continues to endlessly grow. But in terms of season 3 of Solo Leveling? There is a surprising lack of real news, and what we do know is disappointing. Despite the massive success of Solo Leveling, crossing 700,000 reviews on Crunchyroll, the service’s most popular show ever, there has not been confirmation of season 3’s existence by anyone involved with the series.

While sure, it may seem like a no-brainer, and that announcement may be forthcoming, we do not having anything official yet. Previously, the animation producer of the series, Atsushi Kaneko said in a video feature that season 2’s finale will be the end of the series, for now, and said it “may or may not” continue from here. Solo Leveling Crunchyroll I mean, I don’t buy that, and I think he’s just dancing because they’re avoiding officially announcing season 3 yet.

Still, it’s mildly frustrating to hear and at the very least, it indicates we are heading toward a much larger gap between seasons 2 and 3 compared to 1 and 2, which were only a single year apart. There are 14 web novels of Solo Leveling as source material, meaning they’re not going to need to make things up as they go, at least. Solo Leveling has been a breakout hit at a level we’ve rarely seen in anime with a relatively simplistic concept drawn from video game basics.

Hunters of different power levels enter dungeon portals and defeat bosses to close them. But one Hunter, Jin-woo, has the ability to actively increase his power level in time, resulting in him being essentially the most powerful human on earth, handling top-level monsters and raids with ease. He recently took part in a raid that claimed the lives of many S-rank Hunters, and naturally, he lived through that, and everyone wants to see what he does next.

But while it may have been nice to get those two seasons a year apart, given the lack of an announcement, the coyness of the interviews and the fact that a lot of animes really start to spread out their release schedules over time, unfortunately no, I don’t think we’re going to be watching season 3 in January 2026 at this point.
