April 7 bulletin, the state weather bureau said Virac (Synop), Catanduanes could reach up to 44°C temperature while a heat index of 43°C might hit Sangley Point, Cavite City. PAGASA also said the following areas will have a 42°C heat index: In Metro Manila, NAIA Pasay City could see a heat index of 41°C, while Science Garden Quezon City is facing a high of 38°C. PAGASA categorizes areas with 42°C to 51°C heat index under the danger category, while areas with 33°C to 41°C fall under the “extreme caution” category.
Heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible in areas under extreme caution, while heat stroke is a potential risk under the danger level.
