Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest, with a 352-member Indonesian contingent participating in the parade. Military might on display The event will highlight India's defence capabilities with cutting-edge platforms, including BrahMos, Pinaka, Akash, and newly introduced systems like the Army’s Battle Surveillance System 'Sanjay' and DRDO's surface-to-surface missile 'Pralay'.
The parade will also feature T-90 'Bhishma' tanks, BMP-II Sarath, Nag Missile System, and the multi-barrel rocket launcher 'Agnibaan'. A key highlight will be the first-ever tri-services tableau, demonstrating battlefield operations across land, air, and sea, featuring indigenous defence assets like the Arjun battle tank, Tejas fighter jet, and advanced light helicopter. The tableau’s theme will be 'Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat' (Strong and Secure India).
DRDO will also present a tableau on ‘Raksha Kavach’, depicting multi-layered defence systems. Cultural extravaganza The parade will include 31 tableaux—16 from states and Union Territories and 15 from central ministries and organisations—under the theme ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’. States like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Gujarat will showcase their cultural and developmental achievements.
The flypast will feature 40 aircraft from the Indian Air Force, including the C-130J Super Hercules, C-295, C-17 Globemaster, P-8I, MiG-29, and Su-30, alongside three Dornier aircraft from the Indian Coast Guard. A motorcycle stunt display by the daredevils of the Corps of Signals will also be part of the celebrations. President Droupadi Murmu will deliver an address to the nation on the eve of Republic Day, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the tributes to the country's martyrs at the National War Memorial before the parade.
The event will be led by Parade Commander Lt Gen Bhavnish Kumar, with Maj Gen Sumit Mehta as the Second-in-Command. Two Param Vir Chakra awardees, both Kargil war heroes, and one Ashok Chakra awardee will also take part in the grand celebrations. The event will conclude with cultural performances and a musical tribute of 'Sare Jahan Se Achha' played by 300 artists representing different regions of India.

This unique blend of military music and noble values reflects the spirit and honour of the academy, the statement noted. 76th Republic Day 2025 Live Updates: President Murmu approves gallantry awards for 93 personnel On the eve of India's 76th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu has approved gallantry awards for 93 personnel from the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces, including 11 posthumous honours. The awards include two Kirti Chakras (one posthumous), 14 Shaurya Chakras (three posthumous), and 66 Sena Medals (seven posthumous).
Additionally, 58 personnel will receive Mention-in-Despatches, including four posthumous awards. These prestigious honours recognize extraordinary acts of bravery in operations such as Rakshak, Snow Leopard, Hifazat, and Sahayata. Among the recipients, Major Manjit and Naik Dilwar Khan (Posthumous) will be awarded the Kirti Chakra, while 14 others, including Major Ashish Dahiya and Captain Deepak Singh (Posthumous), will receive the Shaurya Chakra.
Furthermore, 305 defence decorations have been approved, including Param Vishisht Seva Medals and Yudh Seva Medals, acknowledging distinguished service across the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
