Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has recovered 20 bighas of land dismantling some 70 makeshift structures at Satmasjid Housing area at Mohammadpur in the capital

70 structures evicted, 10 lakh tons of waste removed in DNCC drive Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has recovered 20 bighas of land dismantling some 70 makeshift structures at Satmasjid Housing area at Mohammadpur in the capital during the three-day eviction drive. Besides, excavation of Ramchandrapur Canal continues after removing some 10 tonnes of waste from it. The DNCC launched its eviction drive for the third consecutive day to demolish illegal structures built on the land of canal.

DNCC Zone-5's zonal executive officer and executive magistrate Motakabbir Ahmed and DNCC's executive magistrate Mahbub Hasan conducted the eviction drive. During the drive, nine pucca structures, a housing gate and small structures at surrounding areas were dismantled. The DNCC said a commercial farm was built occupying the canal and the bank of the canal.



Several people had been doing business for a long time there. The DNCC has been conductive regular drives to recover canals at its mayor's Atiqul Islam's directives. The drive was conducted as part of that directive.
