6-year-old Cartwright boy dies in UTV accident

BRYAN CO., Okla. (KTEN) — According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 6-year-old boy from Cartwright died after a UTV accident 4 miles north of Cartwright on Saturday.

The wreck happened around 3:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon.



72-year-old Thaworn Jackson was driving a 2021 Coleman UTV with the 6-year-old boy as passenger. According to the report by OHP, the UTV was going northbound on a recreational trail when it struck an embankment and rolled to its side. The 6-year-old boy was pinned in the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene, Jackson suffered no injuries.

OHP says the cause of the collision is still under investigation..
