Tobermory 27 year old from The Hebridean series Tobermory Distillery has recently released the fifth and final expression in its exclusive and collectable annual Hebridean Series release. With only 2,857 bottles in circulation globally, the whisky encapsulates the colourful character and spirit of Mull, paying homage to its rugged island home.
It is now available to purchase globally. Expression 5, inspired by Duart Castle, is a 27-year-old sherried single malt, finished for 12 years in hand-selected González Byass sherry casks. Duart Castle is an iconic part of the Mull skyline, overlooking the Sound of Mull.
It represents the island’s centuries-old connection with the global seafaring community and is one of the last things travellers see as they depart the island. This rich sherried malt boasts signature Tobermory notes of pineapple and toffee caramel with the indulgence of marmalade, cinnamon spice, and the delicate sweetness of fig rolls, blackcurrant, brambles, and honey-roasted nuts. RyeLaw This whisky, which was distilled in 2017, is the result of years of meticulous planning by Inchdairnie distillery founder Ian Palmer. RyeLaw is the only whisky in the world made using rye and distilled in a Lomond Hill still. It's a single grain, Scotch whisky made with 53% malted rye and 47% malted barley, lovingly crafted by InchDairnie Distillery in Fife.
Carefully matured in new oak casks, RyeLaw is a result of traditional techniques blended with cutting edge technologies, creating a balanced whisky with decadent notes of crème caramel, vanilla sweetness, and gentle spice. Buy a bottle at a reduced price of £86 here Scotch Malt Whisky Society Higher Power and Full Throttle Coal Scuttle The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) has released two Taiwanese whiskies that exemplify its mission to give whisky fans surprising flavour adventures, in the run up to the anniversary of their distilling, which happens to be Mother’s Day this year.
The whisky club is shining a spotlight on the five-year-old single malt Taiwanese whiskies, both from the same distillery, both distilled on 30 March 2018, and both matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. The two whiskies have everything in common - except their flavour profile. Higher Power is light and delicate, with notes of honey, citrus, and soft florals.
Full Throttle Coal Scuttle, in contrast, is boldly peated, bursting with smoky intensity, charred oak, and earthy richness. Both bottles are available for £79.50 each for SMWS members, with non-members able to join the Society to purchase.

The Heart Cut 12 Nc’nean whisky The Heart Cut, the award-winning independent bottler, is launching its first Single Malt Scotch whisky in collaboration with Nc’nean, an independent, organic distillery from the West Coast of Scotland. Known for its dedication to showcasing unique, one-off single cask and small batch bottlings, this launch is not only The Heart Cut’s first Scotch, but the brand’s first launch in 2025 and the 12th in its curated portfolio.
Finished in a Madeira Wine cask, and with just 391 bottles coming from the cask, the resulting whisky is classic and refined, with a super juicy, fruity taste, a long finish, and a beautiful amber hue. Rampur Double Cask Indian Single Malt Whisky This whisky has delicate balsamic vanilla notes from the American white oak, which compliment the full-bodied aroma, whilst rich caramel, dried dark fruits and spiced tonality from the European oak add to the depth of flavour. Produced in India’s oldest distillery, this super luxury premium whisky is distilled in traditional copper pot stills.
