53IB holds medical, dental mission in Zamboanga del Sur

A TOTAL of 560 residents have benefitted from the Medical and Dental Mission and Gift Giving initiated by the Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion (53IB) in one of the villages in the town of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, the military said Saturday, December 14, 2024. The 53IB said the activity was held on Friday, December 13, at the elementary school of Barangay Dilud, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. “The event brought together local government officials, educators, military personnel and healthcare professionals in a concerted effort to serve the community,” the 53IB said.

Of the total beneficiaries, 200 individuals benefitted from medical consultations, 50 availed dental services, 35 individuals were given flu vaccinations, 45 got free haircut, and 230 received essential medicines. The 53IB also distributed 200 hygiene kits, 250 food packs and 215 umbrellas. “This activity underscores commitment to promoting health, well-being, and community care,” the 53IB said.



The 53IB said the outreach mission was supported by local leaders and medical teams. The event was a testament to the strong partnership between the local government, the military, and civilian volunteers in addressing the needs of the community, according to the 53IB. (SunStar Zamboanga).
