5 injured after fire breaks out in Delhi residential building

A fire broke out in a residential building in New Delhi's Kishangarh area, injuring five family members. Two of them, Sunny Mandal and Aakash Mandal, are in critical condition at AIIMS, while the other three are stable at Safdarjung Hospital. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

This is a representational image NEW DELHI: A fire broke out in a residential building in the Kishangarh area of New Delhi on Wednesday, injuring five family members. Two fire trucks and three Police Control Room (PCR) vans were sent to the scene as soon as information about the incident was received. According to the police, two of the injured, Sunny Mandal, 22, and Aakash Mandal, 16, are in critical condition and have been taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences ( AIIMS ).

The other injured family members, Laxmi Mandal, 42, Deepak, 20, and Anita Mandal, 40, are currently in stable condition at Safdarjung Hospital. The cause of the fire is still unclear. Initially, it was thought that a leak from an LPG cylinder might have caused it, but an inspection found the cylinder to be safe and intact.
