Chandigarh: Ahead of the farmers' march towards Delhi on Saturday, the authorities have suspended the internet and bulk SMS services in several areas in the Ambala district of Haryana. The suspension was enforced at 6 am on Saturday (Dec 14) and will remain in place till 11:59 PM on Dec 17, an official statement said. "Internet services suspended in parts of Ambala with immediate effect from 14th December (06:00 hrs) to 17th December (23:59 hrs)," the statement read.

A group of 101 farmers would march towards Delhi on Saturday at noon seeking MSP and other relief measures from the Central government. "..

.The protest has entered the 307th day and our third 'jatha' of 101 farmers will leave for Delhi by noon. The whole country is supporting the protest.

.. But our Prime Minister and Union Agriculture Minister are not saying anything about it and are maintaining distance.

.. Government agencies are trying their best to ensure that the 'morcha' does not win.

.. I urge everyone to support the protest.

.." farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said.

Farmers are set to resume their 'Delhi Chalo' foot march on Saturday with demands like fulfilment of their long-pending demands, including a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops and loan waivers, a report in IANS said. A group of 101 farmers will move towards the national Capital as part of the ongoing protest that has now completed 10 months. They have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana since February 13.

A few days back also, 101 farmers had begun the 'Delhi chalo' march but later suspended it after some them got injured as police used tear gas shells. The protest is being held under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha. Meanwhile, the health condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal deteriorated as he has been on an indefinite hunger strike for over 18 days at the Khanauri border.

The Supreme Court on Friday directed Punjab and Central governments to ensure medical assistance for Dallewal, emphasising that his life is more important than the agitation.
