On Saturday, the San Francisco 49ers sat at the top of the NFC West standings. Just five days later, they find themselves—at least temporarily—in last place. Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs dropped the 49ers to 3-4.

Coupled with the Los Angeles Rams' upset win over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night, they have slid to the bottom of the division. The Vikings, who started the season 5-0, suffered their second consecutive loss, while the Rams earned their second straight victory after winning just one of their first five games. That lone win came against the 49ers in Week 3.

With matching 3-4 records, the Rams hold the tiebreaker over the 49ers, placing them above Kyle Shanahan's team in the standings. The Arizona Cardinals, 3-4, also have beaten the 49ers this season, leaving San Francisco behind all their division rivals. Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks sit atop the NFC West with a 4-3 record.

The 49ers have a chance to climb out of last place with a win on Sunday night against the 3-3 Dallas Cowboys. Below are the current NFC West standings: Seattle Seahawks (4-3) Arizona Cardinals (3-4) Los Angeles Rams (3-4) San Francisco 49ers (3-4) This article first appeared on 49ers Webzone and was syndicated with permission..
