Ludhiana: A case has been filed against four people for allegedly cutting green trees near a canal. One of the accused is Balwinder Singh of Kapurthala, currently residing in Chota village, Ludhiana, while the others are unknown, Machhiwara police said. Complainant Shaminder Singh, forest range officer, Samrala, told police that early on Wednesday, Gurpreet, forest guard, and daily wage worker Harjit Singh were carrying out patrolling when they saw three to four people were cutting green standing trees.
The complainant said that one of them was Balwinder. While some of those trees were stolen earlier, some had been cut on the spot. A total of eight trees were cut.
