3.5 kg gold stolen after attacking jewellery owner in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: Gold jewellery of 3.5 kg weight was stolen after attacking two siblings, who were returning home after closing their shop. The robbers attacked the owners of the jewellery shop.

MALAPPURAM: Gold jewellery of 3.5 kg weight was stolen after attacking two siblings, who were returning home after closing their shop. The robbers attacked the owners of the jewellery shop Yousuf and Shanawas of Kinathi, and made away with the gold.

The incident happened last night while they were going home in their scooter. A four-member team, who arrived in a car, hit the scooter and stole the gold. The thieves arrived wearing masks.



The robbery was minutes before they reached the house. The accused got out of the car and pepper sprayed Yousuf and Shanawas. They beat Yousuf when he tried to resist them.

They then grabbed the bag they had in their hand and another one kept under the seat of the scooter, and left the place. Yousuf and Shanawas said the car was following them when they left the shop. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced.

Yousuf is undergoing treatment in the hospital with injuries. The police have launched an investigation..
