ACC Limited, JSW Energy, JSW Steel, JSPL, NMDC, and NTPC Mining are among the 31 companies that have submitted bids for the 10th round of the commercial coal mine auction. Notably, over 10 new companies are participating for the first time in this auction. These 31 companies have submitted 44 bids for the 67 coal blocks in the 10th round.
The Mnistry of Coal opened the bids for the 10th round, as well as for the second attempts of the ninth and eighth rounds of commercial coal mine auctions. The 10th round opened on June 21, and the bid submission deadline was extended twice to provide prospective bidders with enough time. In total, 43 bids were received for 16 coal mines out of the 61 offered in the ninth round — just one was received against five blocks in the second attempt.
No bids were submitted for the single mine offered in the second attempt for the eighth round. These bids will now be evaluated by a multi-disciplinary Technical Evaluation Committee, which will shortlist Technically Qualified Bidders for participation in the electronic auction to be conducted on the MSTC portal.
