Ludhiana: A violent robbery in Gurbachan Colony has left a woman traumatized after a group of at least 30 armed men invaded her home, overpowering her and stealing more than ₹1 lakh in cash and jewelry. Following the robbery, the assailants caused further destruction at her husband’s dairy, killing several animals. The incident occurred late Sunday when Gurmeet Kaur , 46, was alone at home.

She reported that the attackers vandalized furniture and threatened her before fleeing with the stolen valuables. Notably, the same group had visited her home the day before, inquiring about her son, Ramandeep Singh, who was not present. After robbing Kaur's house, the assailants proceeded to her husband’s dairy in Kanganwal, where they killed at least seven hens and a calf and injured their pet dog by fracturing its leg.

According to ASI Jarnail Singh from Daba police station, the robbery appears to be linked to a prior altercation between Ramandeep and some of the suspects. The police have filed an FIR against identified individuals, including Mani Sekhon and Babu, along with their unnamed accomplices. The FIR includes multiple charges under various sections of the law, including house trespass and rioting with deadly weapons.

The accused are currently at large as police continue their investigation into the incident. Gurmeet Kaur’s harrowing experience highlights the growing concerns over safety in residential areas and raises questions about the effectiveness of local law enforcement in preventing such violent crimes.
